6 Escape Room Tips

Escape rooms come in all different themes, shapes, and sizes. But, they all have one common goal: solve the puzzles to escape. To make your adventure a success, listen to our 6 escape room tips to help you before and during your experience.

Before Your Escape Game

Practice Your Skills

All of that puzzle and riddle solving won’t go to waste! By sharpening your mind to think critically, and by timing yourself to do it under pressure, you’ll be ready to take on any challenge. We also recommend practicing your math without a calculator, you might be a little rusty when it comes to basic algebra!

Build A Team

If you want to win, you need to strategically pick your teammates. Find people that have different strengths so you can play off of them when you need it most. This is one of the best escape room tips we can give you to get you off to a good start.

Research the Room

Do you know the name of the room you’ll be playing in and what its theme is? Familiarize yourself with the plot of the room. Oftentimes, escape rooms are based on a story and the puzzles will naturally lead you through it.

During Your Escape Game

Divide and Conquer

Teamwork is great, but when you’re on a time crunch, you need to find all the resources and clues you can. If some of your team is about to solve a puzzle, go find the next thing to get you one step closer to that key!

Overly communicate with your teammates, especially if you think you found a clue. Let them know if you’re having difficulty solving a puzzle, or if you think something is worth exploring more. Teams that lack communication often fail to escape.

Organize Your Clues

Sometimes, a clue isn’t useful until later in the game. Keep the clues that you’ve already solved separate from the ones you haven’t used yet. Organization will keep your team moving faster in this timed experience.
